Learning Design

My communication expertise starts with creating a strategy to solve the problem of my client’s learning needs. Using a concise, thoughtful approach that starts with a conversation about what the needs are and then taking that to start my research to brainstorm possible solutions. The sample shown above is the framing analysis for a Train the Trainer eLearning Module. The analysis of the various types of learning design models illustrates my ability to consider many components and then synthesize them to create a representation as shown here of the various learning design models.

My expertise in quantitative analysis is demonstrated in this video which analyzed the results from a study on what better ways online learning could teach students that normally would engage in hands-on learning. After surveying both teachers and students the results revealed that it was a combination of learning approaches that would best serve this audience. I took it one step further and shared the results with colleagues so that not only I could increase enrollment for these students but others could as well. Click here to review the results.

In this collaborative project a team of four worked together to create a learning design module that would educators in higher education to take their in-person course and put it into a Learning Management System. This project demonstrates my ability to work and lead on a team of learning designers creating solutions for a design problem. Each member of the team contributed to the production of this video and to the final learning design module. To review this informative video please click here.

Design Document for To Feed a Nation

In building the Design Document for the Train the Trainer course to be used with facilitators of the modules “To Feed a Nation: George Washington Carver, Science and Agriculture” presented the opportunity to use my expertise in learning theories, teaching, curriculum design and applied assessments to the given modules. Course Analysis Video

In this video I reviewed a MOOC course using various analytical tools to evaluate the module. Those tools were The Quality Course Teaching Instructional Practice score card. the Web Accessibility checker, Flesch Reading Ease score and the Inclusive Language score. Additionally, the entire course was meticulously reviewed and the results which appear throughout but in particular around minute 9 of the video demonstrates a visual representation of quantitative data that was collected. This video is a clear example of a project where I am able to apply research and collected data to form the successes and struggles of a learning design module. Engineering Design Model

In this video that I created to showcase the Engineering Design Model used to help facilitators apply this method to their teaching demonstrates all of the necessary skills needed to create successful multi-media learning design modules. To view this multi-media presentation click her.
